< Back to Previous Page Fort Worth Truck Crash Settlement Reached Truck crash lawsuit settled for $5.1 million Fort Worth, Texas - A settlement has been reached for the Easter Sunday 2007 truck accident  caused by truck driver negligence. The lawsuit entailed both wrongful death and serious injury against not only the truck driver, Larry Dean Roberts, but also Joe Swinson of Swinson Excavating, Stoney Point Agricorp., Inc. The defendants have officially agreed upon a settlement of $5.1 million. According to police records, on April 8, 2007, the tractor-trailer collided with another vehicle containing a 50-year-old woman and her two grandchildren. The report states that the collision was caused by the truck driver and his neglect to stop at a stop sign. Roberts stated that he had been in a hurry and was talking to his dog when the crash occurred. Unfortunately, due to the truck drivers negligence, the 50-year-old woman and one of her grandchildren died in the crash and the other child was severely injured and is now in need of long-term care.
